Force majeure clauses

Excused delay when events outside either party's control affect performance.

What triggers relief

Lists often include natural disasters, war, or government action. Check whether pandemics, strikes, or supplier failure are included or excluded.

Notice and mitigation

You usually must tell the other party promptly and try to reduce the impact. Long force majeure without a termination right can freeze a bad deal in place.
