Termination and notice periods

Ending for convenience, for breach, and what you are owed when a job stops early.

Convenience vs breach

Termination for convenience lets either side walk away with notice, sometimes with a fee. Termination for breach usually follows a cure period for the problem clause.

Notice symmetry

Check whether both parties get the same notice period. A seven-day exit for the client and thirty days for you is one-sided.

Work in progress

The contract should say what happens to completed work, work in progress, and deposits if the deal ends early.
